1. Introduction

ATHLETIQ ("the app", "we", "us") is a sports career management platform and social network for athletes. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

2. Information We Collect

  • Registration details: name, email, date of birth, in-app role (Athlete / Scout / Agent / Team / Observer / Parent / Advertiser)
  • Profile details: profile photo, sport, performance data, career history
  • User-generated content: posts, photos, videos
  • Usage data: in-app interactions, calendar/schedule, connections between users
  • Device data: device identifier, operating system, for diagnostic and troubleshooting purposes
  • Payment information: subscriptions are purchased on a separate website (outside the app), handled by a third-party payment provider (Paddle). We do not store credit card details, and the app itself never communicates with the payment provider directly.

3. Minors and Parental Privacy

  • Users under the age of 13 require verified parental/guardian consent before using the app, consistent with how the product already gates minor-safety features (see our messaging and calling safety rules).
  • The "Parent" role provides limited, read-only oversight of a linked minor's profile and calendar — it does not allow independent content creation.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from minors without the parental consent required by applicable law.
  • Minimum age for the non-professional Observer role: 13.

4. How We Use Information

  • Operating core services (calendar, profile, feed, connections)
  • Tailoring content and profile visibility across roles according to permissions
  • Communicating with you (notifications, service updates)
  • Improving the service and aggregate, anonymized statistical analysis (for example, video analytics for Advertisers)

5. Information Sharing

  • Public profile information is visible to other users according to your privacy settings and the viewer's role
  • Third-party service providers: Firebase (Google), our payment provider (Paddle, via a website outside the app), a licensed commercial music library (Soundstripe/Artlist)
  • We do not sell personal information to third parties for marketing purposes

6. Data Security

  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest (Firebase security rules)
  • Role-based access control governs who can read what data
  • We rely on our cloud infrastructure provider's (Google Firebase) automated backup and redundancy mechanisms

7. Your Rights

  • You may access, correct, and delete your personal information
  • You may request full account deletion; data is retained for 30 days after the request before final deletion

8. Data Retention

Information is retained for as long as your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
